Rules of the game

We play by the standard rules set out by the IFAB, which you can see here, with the following changes:

• The games will be played on a half-field. This way two games will be taking place in parallel.
• Each team consists of 6 + 1 players.
• There are no offsides.
• The duration of a match is 15 minutes.
• There is no limit on the number of changes a team can make during the game (players who have been recalled can be put back in on the field), but the change must take place only when the ball is not in play.
• In case of a tie, it is settled by (ordered first to last by priority): points and goals, number of female participants in the team, fairplay, and coin toss.

About

The football cup started as a friendly competition between the elite master programs in the earlt days of the Elite Network of Bavaria. The cup took place each following year with the exception of the corona-pandemic (2020, 2021) and it has become tradition that the winning team will host the event for the next year. The winners in 2022 were the Theoretical and Mathematical Physics elite master programme and as such we will host you this year in Munich.

The Elite Network of Bavaria is an initiative of the Free State of Bavaria to support talented young students. The Elite-Cup is an event organized by the Elite Network of Bavaria.
